CASE STUDY | WEB DESIGN & BRANDING
Despite this being quite an extensive job a quick turn around was needed in order to maintain the momentum that the newly launched company had already developed.
The client had a very clear idea of how they wanted to pitch the business and had very specific ideas regarding the logo. It's is always good to get a well-formed brief in order to understand implicitly the direction the client's coming from and removes alot of ambiguity from proceedings.
The premise behind the logo was clearly conveyed and quickly worked up.
The company currently specialises in conducting EPCs, Enegry Performance Certificates, which all landlords and homeowners require by law when selling or letting property. The explain how energy efficient a property is and what can be done to improve it.
By ustilising the bright colour palate attributed to the ratings section of the EPCs we developed a simple bee design who carried these colours in its stripes. This was created using vector grahpics in order that the logo could be scaled to any size at a later date.
Next we tackled the website as this would be the companies sole marketing channel for the foreseeable.
As the name Efficiency Bee suggests, the ethos of the company is quite alternative, gentle and genuinely concerned with tackling environmental issues, not one whose purpose is to capitalise on the press surrounding green issues these days.
We looked into ways that Efficiency Bee would stand out from it's peers. This wasn't difficult as exisiting websites for similar businesses in the area tend to be very drab. With this in mind we ran with the design style of the logo and began playing with the bright colours on a soft-toned background.
Once we'd agreed the fonts to use and the general tone of the site, along with the layout of information and number of pages, things fell into place very quickly indeed.
It was a matter of days between the creating the design style and having the website up and running though this was as much about having an extremely proactive client as our speedy service.
As a result we were very much on each other's wavelength and that really helped. It made the process a much smoother ride for all as the content was ready upon request and approval on all the design stages were immediate.
The letterhead and business cards were a mere formality and took no time to work up once we were done with the website.
The Client
Efficiency Bee
The brief
To create a logo, branding and design style for a newly launched energy conservation company and implement it across a brochure website and company stationary.
The Response
'Having never been involved with constructing a website before and
being a little nervous about it, Electroblankets made the whole
experience seem very straightforward and also fun.
After preliminary discussions about my business they understood exactly where I was coming from and were able to collate all my thoughts to produce a
website and logo that was way beyond my expectations, almost as if they knew the business better than me. The speed and ease with which it came together was astonishing and I would definitely recommend
working with them.'
